About www.CopenhagenCity.dk

Copenhagen is Denmark's capital, with the parliament, government and monarchy all situated in the heart of the city. Copenhagen is the centre of an extensive metropolitan area and the Øresund Region, with a population and workforce transcending local, regional and national boundaries.

Copenhagen is also a local authority for over 500,000 inhabitants, who demand efficient, high quality local authority services.
An important part in maintaining this high quality in services to the citizens is the website of the City of Copenhagen – www.CopenhagenCity.dk.

The citizens of Copenhagen are very active on the internet. More than 7 out of 10 citizens have access to the internet – a stunning 86% of all families with small children are on-line.
People in Denmark have internet-access in various places – at home, at work, at schools, libraries and other public places. This creates a perfect opportunity for the City of Copenhagen to reach their citizens on-line. With an extensive web-site the city offers flexible information and service – as an addition to our face-to-face personal service.

The numbers show that the citizens appreciates it - the site has about 100.000 visitors a month.

www.CopenhagenCity.dk is structured around four main themes: a Guide to Services, Policy and Democracy, General Information and News.

Guide to Services
Here you find factual information about the services and read about who decides whether you are eligible for a particular service. You can enter in two ways: through a list of main subject or through a series of "life-cycles"
In April 2002, 26 electronic self-service solutions were implemented, making it possible to enter a varied range of services – 24 hours a day, year round.
The number of self-service solutions will continuously be upgraded. The services range from change of address to applications for pension and housing subsidy. Apart from the benefits electronic self-service gives the citizens, the service will introduce the world of digital government to the daily routines of the city government.

Policy and Democracy
Here you find information on the political and administrative structure of the City of Copenhagen. There is information about the City Council, its members (addresses and e-mail) and meetings, the committees, the political processes, the budget and ways of having a say in the political processes.

General Information
Here you find a general description of the city government and administration, addresses and contact-numbers in the city government, links to other sites in the city and facts about the statistics and history of Copenhagen.

News
